Final exams are here!

The end of the semester is almost upon us. For many of you, this means long nights and marathon study sessions fueled by copious amounts of caffeine. Luckily for everyone, the library is here to help with group seminar rooms and extended hours for the BSC community.

We have several rooms available for checkout for those of you keen on studying in groups. Almost all of them have a whiteboard, and a few of them contain A/V equipment for those of you who need to practice presentations or watch a movie for a class. Click here to check out the room availability, and you can follow the link on that page if you would like submit a reservation request.  

Please note, there is a 3-hour time limit on the room checkouts, and if you would like to make a reservation on short notice, please call the Circulation Desk directly (205-226-4740)!


Also, beginning on Wednesday, Dec. 2, the library will have extended hours, as follows:

Wednesday, Dec. 2: 8am-open all night*
Thursday, Dec. 3: open 24 hours*
Friday, Dec. 4: open until 5pm
Saturday, Dec. 5: 9am-midnight
Sunday, Dec. 6: 2pm-open all night*
Monday, Dec. 7: open until 2am
Tuesday, Dec. 8: 8am-open all night*
Wednesday, Dec. 9: open 24 hours*
Thursday, Dec. 10: open until 10pm
Friday, Dec. 11: 8am-5pm
Saturday, Dec. 12: CLOSED
Sunday, Dec. 13: CLOSED
Monday-Friday, Dec. 14-18: 8am-5pm
*The Circulation Desk will be closing at 2am on these nights, and will reopen at 8am the following morning.

The library will be open only to BSC students, faculty, and staff during exams (beginning Wednesday, Dec. 2). Community patrons will be welcome again on Friday, December 11.

Thanksgiving Hours

We hope everyone is ready for a well-deserved break! The library will have shortened hours for Thanksgiving this week, so please keep them in mind:

Monday, Nov. 23: 8am-1am (normal hours)
Tuesday, Nov. 24: 8am-10pm
Wednesday, Nov. 25: 8am-NOON
Thursday, Nov. 26: CLOSED
Friday, Nov. 27: CLOSED
Saturday, Nov. 28: CLOSED
Sunday, Nov. 29: 2pm-1am (back to normal hours)

Get your fill of food and family while you can! We hope everyone has a fun and safe Thanksgiving!

BACHE (Birmingham Area Consortium for Higher Education) and BPL (Birmingham Public Libraries)



Students, faculty, and staff at BACHE institutions may access the resources of all the member libraries by simply presenting their valid I.D. cards. Please remember that the rules and regulations of the lending library are in effect and must be respected. 
BSC students, faculty, and staff may visit and check out materials from the libraries at the following institutions:
Additionally:
BSC students who live on campus qualify for a Birmingham Public Library card. This card may be used at any of the 19 BPL locations and the additional 21 public libraries that comprise the Jefferson County Library Cooperative.
