Final exam hours

Finals are almost upon us, and with them are extended hours for the library:

Thursday, May 7: 8am-open all night (Circulation Desk closes at 2am)
Friday, May 8: 8am-10pm
Saturday, May 9: 9am-12am
Sunday, May 10: 2pm-open all night (Circulation Desk closes at 2am)
Monday, May 11: open 24 hours (Circulation Desk closes at 2am)
Tuesday, May 12: open 24 hours (Circulation Desk closes at 2am)
Wednesday, May 13: open 24 hours (Circulation Desk closes at 2am)
Thursday, May 14: 8am-10pm
Friday, May 15: 8am-5pm

Saturday & Sunday, May 16 & 17: CLOSED
Monday-Friday, May 18-22: 8am-5pm
Saturday-Monday, May 23-25: CLOSED (Memorial Day weekend)
Tuesday-Friday, May 26-29: 8am-5pm

The library will be open only to BSC students, faculty, and staff during exams (beginning Thursday, May 7). Community patrons will be welcome again on Friday, May 15.

Gigantic thank you to SGA and our Campus Police for making these extended hours possible!

Pay attention to those due dates!

The spring semester is finally dwindling down, with only a couple of weeks before finals start. This means that a lot of the material that students have borrowed from the library is going to be due back soon.

To be sure that we can send Interlibrary Loan books back to their original libraries before the end of the term, all ILL books will be due back on May 8 (next Friday). There will be no book requests or renewals past that date! You will, however, be able to request periodical articles and chapters from books past that date, so make sure you plan accordingly!

Graduating seniors will have a final due date of May 11 for all BSC library material. You won't be able to receive your diploma until after you have cleared your library account, so make sure you return everything on time and take care of any fines!

A Successful Open House!

We would like to thank everyone who came out to participate in the library's open house earlier this semester! We're really excited to be able to offer these new study spaces, and we hope that you all will enjoy using them.

We'd also like to recognize our grand prize raffle winner, Shiv Desai! Shiv won an autographed photo of himself with General Krulak, a copy of which will be held in the BSC Archives. Congratulations, Shiv!

Spring Break hours

The College's Spring Break is coming up soon, and as always, the library will have shortened hours for the duration:

Saturday, March 14: CLOSED
Sunday, March 15: CLOSED
Monday-Friday, March 16-20: 8am-5pm
Saturday, March 21: CLOSED
Sunday, March 22: resume normal schedule

BSC's One-A-Chord Gospel Choir to Sing in Selma

This weekend is the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of "Bloody Sunday" and the Selma-to-Montgomery march for voting rights.

BSC's own One-A-Chord Gospel Choir will be part of a huge choir that is scheduled to sing this weekend at the celebration in Selma.  They will perform a variety of traditional Gospel pieces as well songs and hymns made famous during the Civil Rights era.  The program also includes contemporary music chosen especially for this 50th anniversary.
